Thread the speaker wire through the rubber cap

Thread the speaker wire up through the rubber cap. Split the speaker wire and thread each end through the rings on each side. This keeps the speaker wire out of the way during stake installation.

Hammer the stake

Use a rubber mallet to hammer the stake into the ground until the rubber cap reaches ground level.

Remove the rubber cap

Carefully remove the speaker wire from the rubber cap. Remove the rubber cap from the stake.

Strip the speaker wire

Strip ½ ‘’ of the insulation from the end of each conductor.

Twist the wires

Twist the wires from the speaker cable run in a clockwise direction to ensure there are no stray conductors.

Prepare the termination block

Pull the termination block from the bottom of the speaker mounting shaft. Loosen the empty (+) and (–) terminals on the termination block .

Connect the speaker wire

Insert the (+) and (-) wires from the speaker cable run into the proper terminals until the bare copper is completely covered. Tighten the screws firmly to secure the wires.

Hide the connections

Carefully push the speaker cable and termination block back into speaker mounting shaft.

Attach the speaker to the mount

Position the speaker on top of the mount. Push the threaded collar to the bottom of the speaker mounting shaft. Rotate the collar onto the mount until fully tightened.

Adjust the speaker angle

Use a #2 Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screw at the joint. Adjust the speaker angle. Tighten the screw.

Remove the cover cap

Remove the silicone cover cap from the back of the speaker to access tap settings.

Set the speaker tap setting (70V)

Warning: Adjust the speaker tap setting before connecting to an amplifier. Setting the transformer incorrectly can damage the system.

Rotate the transformer switch to the correct tap setting based on the amplifier's power rating.

Set the speaker tap setting (8Ω)

Warning: Adjust the speaker tap setting before connecting to an amplifier. Setting the transformer incorrectly can damage the system.

Use a #2 Phillips screwdriver to remove the screw beneath the transformer switch. Rotate the transformer switch to the 8Ω setting. Replace the screw.

Replace the cover cap

Replace the silicone cover cap and verify it is secure.

Connect to the amplifier

Warning: Adjust the speaker tap setting before connecting to an amplifier. Setting the transformer incorrectly can damage the system.

Attach the speaker cable to the amplifier per system requirements. Connect the amplifier to an audio source and to power.

Test audio

Pro Tip: For best results, pair Episode Surroundscape speakers with an Episode Hybrid Amplifier using the appropriate DSP presets for your configuration.

Listen to the system from several locations. Adjust the speaker taps or the amplifier volume to optimize sound quality and volume.

Check the total wattage (per tap settings) to verify the amplifier isn’t overworked. Let the system play for half an hour to ensure that the system is reliable.
